Ranked among the "Top 100 Chinese Calligraphers and Artists", artist Qu Yi mounted his exclusive Australian exhibition at Art & Soul Gallery in May/June 2005. 
In the same year, Yi's paintings were chosen to feature on a series of postcards issued by China Post, Beijing, showcasing the work of the nation's Top 100 Chinese Calligraphers and Artists.
He lives in Nantong in China’s Jiangsu Province. His sister, Dr Bo Qu, (PhD in mathematics) lived at Aratula near Boonah before moving to Brisbane and introduced Yi's works to Art & Soul.
