Indiana Chataway
Indiana is a young artist who won the Art & Soul Youth Award at the 2008 Boonah Spar Arts Festival. She continues to impress with her enigmatic and compelling works that please the eye yet puzzle the mind.
Indi (as she signs her paintings) attended Boonah State High School from 2002 to 2006 and impressed her art teachers who recognised she had a distinct style of her own even as a teenager.
Indi is in her third year of studies in Social Work at the University of Queensland. She is interested in people from all walks of life and through her art she continues to explore this interest by painting them in all their imperfections.Charles Blackman is a source of inspiration as are many children’s picture books.
